The Knot String in Action

I was eager to see The Knot String in action, and my youngest daughter did not disappoint. As soon as we entered the theme park, she bee-lined it to the nearest gift shop. I expected that both of my daughters would be spending the knots immediately. In fact, I was a little concerned that my plan was to backfire and they would spend everything on the first day!

But then again, children are so unpredictable...

As we shopped, I noticed a very disappointed look on her face.

I had not anticipated that. Had my plan failed already?

She was eyeing a porcelain figurine of a favorite cartoon character.

“Why so sad? I asked.

“There’s no way I have enough knots for that.” she said mournfully.

“Well honey,” I said in a comforting tone, “lets take a look...” as I turned the prize over to reveal
the price: $15.95.

“This will only cost you 3 knots.”

She was shocked! Her eyes were bright.
Her smile was wide.
She was astonished!

Instead of arbitrarily deciding if she could have the toy, the purchasing power transferred to her!

Amazingly, she DIDN'T BUY IT! Here is what she did instead...
